Beast Man is one of Skeletor's most loyal servants, and is also one of the first characters to be introduced to the Masters toy line. Gifted with great physical strength, but with very little intelligence, Beast Man is often the victim of abuse or mockery by Skeletor and his companions, and secretly wishes to become the leader of the diabolical warriors. For the rest of the episodes, Beast Man's stupidity serves as a comic element among the enemy ranks in the series. His greatest power is to telepathically control animals, and use them to attack his opponents. However, even this power is not flawless, since, for example, Battle-Cat is immune to it. It is one of the very few secondary antagonists of the series to have a consistent role, unlike the other characters who disappear after a few appearances to allow the promotion of those linked to new action figures.

Beast Man is a fictional supervillain in the toy line and cartoon series Masters of the Universe; the savage right-hand man of Skeletor, he has control over many wild creatures and has brute strength.
The original design sketch of Beast Man by Mattel toy designer Mark Taylor was rejected by Mattel for looking too much like Chewbacca.
Beast Man was one of the first eight characters to be created for the Masters of the Universe toy line by Mattel in the early 1980s, and one of the first four to be completed and released (the other three being He-Man, Man-At -Arms and Skeletor). When the character was developed by Mattel, the name of Beast Man was reused from a figure in Mattel's earlier Flash Gordon toy line.
