Northern Cheyenne
. A
U.S.
cavalry detachment commanded by Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer was annihilated.  Believe it or not, some Native American Indians sided with Custer’s forces and played a role in the historic battle.

he was a Native American Crow scout for Custer’s Cavalry.  He died of pneumonia in 1923 in
Big
Horn
County
, Montana.on the Crow Reservation.
White Man Runs Him
- Crow scout serving with George Armstrong Custer’s 1876 expedition at the
Battle
of the Little Big Horn. His accounts of the battle and the events leading up to the battle are invaluable to modern historians, but were largely ignored for nearly a hundred years. He was one of the few survivors.  He died
June 2, 1929
in Big Horn County Montana.
Hairy Moccasin
was a Crow scout for George Armstrong Custer’s Seventh Cavalry during the 1876 campaign against the Sioux and
Northern Cheyenne
. He was a survivor of the
Battle
of the Little Big Horn.  He died
October 10, 1922
in
Big Horn County
,
Montana
on the Crow Reservation.
