is listing is for a complete rug hooking kit designed, packaged and sold by Sharon Perry. It's my own design, suitable for the beginner or seasoned rug hooker,  and comes with the following:
100% wool fabric cut in #8 (1/4") strips
Color photo of the finished piece along with a  color key
Pattern drawn on a lovely cotton monks cloth
Easy to follow rug hooking instructions
Cotton rug binding to finish it off
If this is your first project the only other items you will need are a rug hook and a frame to put your piece in. I started off with a quilting hoop and did several rugs on that before spending more money and getting a floor frame. I think you need to determine whether you like a hobby before spending a ton of money on it.
As for the hook I have solid hardwood and steel hooks listed for .50 but you can choose the option to add one to your kit for just .50 when you make your purchase.
This kit when completed measures  13 x 20  inches and would make a great chair pad, table centerpiece or a wall hanging. It looks particularly great hanging above a door or window frame. The wools used are mostly hand dyed and very primitive. The house is hooked with red, rust and primitive dyed gray for the roof and window fillers. The background is done with a mixture of autumn golds, pumpkins, etc all hooked at random. The cats are done with an over  dyed dark charcoal. For a finishing touch I added two rows of over dyed textured brown around the outer edge of the piece.
