Description
ANTIQUE GAS LIGHT SHADEMy grandmother told me she thought this was a shade in her old Chicago home that fit over the wall gaslight sconce.
That’s pretty much all the information I have on it. She always used it as a centerpiece on her dining room table with a pillar candle in the center.
·
The shade has a scalloped top edge which measures about 8” in diameter from one outer scallop edge to another and about 6” in diameter from the inner edge of a scallop to another.
·
The base diameter is about 4” in diameter
·
It is about 4 ½” tall.
·
This bottom edge is quite chipped – probably from being lifted off and on regularly – but is still solid.
·
The top edge, on the other hand, is in excellent condition.
·
The shade has a beautifully intricate frosted (or is it etched???) pattern to it.
