    HOW TO MEASURE GLASS CHIMNEYS:
    Measure to outside edges of the fitter. Remember that glass lamp shades are undersize to allow for heat expansion. So if you are measuring the actual glass diameter outside edge to outside edge it will measure a bit less than its stated fitter size.
